Overview: While birding along M-C 85, by taking Jackrabbit Road north to Broadway, it comes upon a nice set of two ponds on the northwest corner of the two roads. These slop ponds are run by the nearby farmers, and are certainly worth checking during the shorebird migrations, in which water levels are usually very favorable by migrating shorebirds here. Who knows what can show up at a patch of water with miles of dry land all around it, right?
Directions: If on the M-C 85, take Jackrabbit Road two miles to Broadway Road, which the ponds are located at the northwest side of the Jackrabbit and Broadway Road intersections. Mile wise, this turnoff is about seven miles east of the west beginning of M-C 85, and about 15 miles west of the east M-C start at 91st Avenue. Vice versa, take the Jackrabbit Road exit at the I-10 south on Airport Road for 3.75 miles until Broadway Road is reached.
