I photographed this Rufous-crowned Sparrow in the northeast part of Maricopa County, near the Seven Springs Recreation Area. These sparrows are more secretive, and prefer rocky hillsides.
The Rufous-crowned Sparrow below was at Gilbert Water Ranch for a good amount of time, which is an unusual place for this species to be seen at.
