Overview: Right off the southern part of the Old US 80 above highway level, sit a few sludge ponds that are always worth checking for shorebirds.
In the right timing, this place can possibly be very productive and has produced excellent results in the past with shorebirds, both regular and rare. This place is worth a stop and scan.
Birding tip: Just get and out check the ponds, that's all you can do.. They may be empty, or they may have something great!
Directions: Whether coming north or south up the Old US 80, these ponds will be on the east side of the road and very noticeable between mile markers 8 and 9. Elevated grounds are built around the ponds, making them very noticeable.
