This Red Phalarope was found by Bob Witzeman at the Higley Road Ponds in Gilbert on May 31st, 2010 and I was able to see it on June 1st along with many other birders. It was the first record for Red Phalarope in Maricopa County for June, making it a great record and always a rare bird to see in Arizona regardless! This individual is almost in full breeding plumage but is still molting.
